Latin American heritage shows in student performance

With many different rich cultures around the world, it is easy for one to get lost in translation. Latin Revolution, a performance on 22 April, was put on by the Latin American Club, a club based on observing classic Latin culture aimed to preserve their culture. Senior Martin Cuadra, was an active member of the Latin American Club and Latin Revolution.
As a senior and member of the club, Cuadra has taken part in Latin Revolution before. Cuadra spoke on the purpose behind Latin Revolution, what they do at events and his personal role in the club.
“The whole club is based on observing Latin American culture.” Cuadra said. “At events we normally preform dance numbers to various Latin genres of music. We preform modern dances such as the Salsa, Bachate, Cumbia and the Merengue to traditional dances from countries from Colombia or Mexico.” “The performances that we do require a lot or rehearsing and preparation but, at the end of the day we always get through it and all our work paid off.”
It can be said that there are many different ways to observe a culture. With Latin Revolution bringing people who had an interest in Latin culture together, Cuadra and members alike were able to observe their culture and went back to their roots.
