Guitar classes inspire up-and-coming musicians
Jan 8, 2015
Guitar classes have been stringing along since August, but no one really knows what they have been doing. The students in the guitar class enjoy playing guitar and learning new songs almost every week. Junior Madeline Brown and senior Gerald Robinson shared their thoughts on the guitar classes.
“Guitar is fun and joyful,” Brown said. “I started playing the guitar during my sophomore year I’ve always wanted to play an instrument and I felt like playing the guitar would have been a good challenge for me. The best song that I have learned was ‘Tutu Tango’ because it was a fun song to learn and play.”
Robinson finds guitar very relaxing for his mind and soothing to hear.
“My favorite song to play is Jingle Bells because it’s my favorite Christmas song,” Robinson said.
For guitar performances, most boys and girls dress in black to create a formal atmosphere. The guitar performances usually run for two hours and very entertaining. The Honors Guitar Ensemble is currently preparing for a performance coming up in February.
