Lacrosse teams channel Italy to bring in money

The boys and girls lacrosse club hosted their first Spaghetti Supper on Nov. 20 in the cafeteria.

Attendees, mostly friends and family of the team members, were treated to desserts, refreshments and, of course, spaghetti during this fundraising event for the lacrosse organizations.

The girls’ lacrosse team captain, senior Clara VanLandingham, called the fundraiser a success.

“It was a great idea inspired by one of the parents,” VanLandingham said. “Everybody had a good time and enjoyed it.”

VanLandingham explained that the event was part of an effort towards greater collaboration between the girls and boys lacrosse clubs this year to bolster the administration of both clubs.

“Our lacrosse programs are clubs, meaning they are not funded by the school, so we have to fundraise for ourselves,” VanLandingham said. “This is the first year that the boys and the girls lacrosse team have tried to commingle and become one club, and the Supper was our joint fundraising event of the year.”
