Hot Club of Cowtown gets down at musical performance
Jan 13, 2015
On Dec.12, an enthusiastic group of country musicians played for the students in the multi-purpose room. The threesome is known as the Hot Club of Cowtown. After their newly released album, “Rendezvous in Rhythm”, the band often travels around the nation and performs.
After the performance, junior Gabriela Banos, a player of the guitar herself, claimed that she was very inspired by the band.
“They were so great.” Banos said. “A real musician enjoys what they play and that is exactly how they did it. I loved it so much. They inspire me to keep on practicing the guitar because with hard work and dedication, everyone can get to where they want to be.”
In addition, the fiddle player and the vocal of the band, Elena James, answered students’ questions after the performance. She spoke about her childhood experience with music and later development in the industry.
“I find that as a young person,” James said. “My mom forced me to play, but she really inked something that mattered to me. As a result, I gained muscle memory since I was just eight-years-old. As I grew up, it got harder to practice when we traveled around so much.”
