Set in the heart of midtown, Coco’s Crepes offers Houstonians the ability to transport to the streets of Paris and indulge in savory and sweet crepes which are the star at Coco’s Crepes. The small store utilizes the colors of yellow and brown. The décor of the store is pretty simple which allows customers to focus on their authentic cuisine.

Coco’s Crepes offers not only crepes but also gelato, coffee concoctions and a variety of different desserts. What sets apart Coco’s Crepes from other restaurants that offer crepes is their options of letting customers choose from their “favorites” menu which consists of suggested combinations. In addition, there is a choice for customers to “make their own” making the possibilities endless and ensuring a satisfied customer.

After spending some time choosing between the long lists of available options, I ordered the Chicken and Spinach crepe and the Turkey Panini. The Chicken and Spinach crepe was made with chicken, spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella with a wild mushroom pesto sauce. The crepe was a decent size and as a fan of mushrooms, I really enjoyed this crepe. The mushrooms were not overwhelming and were perfectly balanced with the spinach. The sauce really tied the whole dish together and made it a very enjoyable meal.  The Turkey Panini was made out of mozzarella, baby greens and basil pesto. The portion for this was also a decent size. However, the turkey was too overpowering and over seasoned. Because of this, it was hard to taste the pesto sauce and the baby greens that were supposed to counteract the turkey. One setback from Coco’s Crepes is their presentation. All of the main meals are served on a paper plate with minimal presentation. Overall, Coco’s Crepes is a nice place, low key place to experience and indulge in French delights.
