ACL Excitement
The weekends of October 2nd – 4th and 9th – 11th, Austin, Texas hosted its annual music festival, Austin City Limits. This year, the festival hosted performers such as Foo Fighters, The Weeknd, Of Monsters & Men, and A$AP Rocky. People from all over the United States came to Texas just for this festival, and many students from Bellaire went as well.
Many students decided to go based on past years’ performances, which have drawn in tons of spectators. Others were drawn by their love of the atmosphere.
“I went to ACL weekend two,” said Sarah Wen. “ I could not wait to see what it is like. I wanted to go because it looked fun last year”, said Wen.

“I was excited to see Twenty-One Pilots because I love them,” said Vega Shah. “I hoped there was fire, because at the VMA’s there was fire. I also wanted to see The Weeknd because it seemed like a fun concert to watch.”
Everyone was incredibly excited to attend the festival, and they were all looking forward to not only the artists, but also the live performance theatrics.
“I’ve been to Free Press before, but when I went to Austin City Limits, it was calmer, almost,” said Shah “There were like little kids there. It was more family oriented.”
“I had been looking forward to this for a long time!” said Shah. “I was so excited.”
