The Second Annual Women’s Soccer Lip Sync Battle

This past Friday, the Women’s soccer club held its second annual lip sync battle. This battle was mainly a way for the teammates to bond and grow closer together.

The lip sync battles were very successful in bringing the team together, and making the teammates more comfortable with each other. According to junior Leighanne Masri, the battles were very helpful in bringing the team closer together.

“The main goal of the battles was to have the team bond and for all of us to get closer,” Masri said. “My favorite part was to see some of the sophomores, freshmen, and seniors get out of their comfort zone and act more comfortable in a different place than the field.”

The judging process was run by coaches with a basic rubric. According to sophomore Hana Abbas, the judging was simple, and based on the team’s performance as a whole.

“We had categories like choreography and fluidity of movement, and our costumes,” Abbas said. “If everyone was lip syncing, at the same part, and we doing that sort of stuff, then we got points.”

Overall, it was a very good way to bring the team together. For sophomore Allie Schachter, the best part was growing closer to her teammates, and watching other do the same.

“It was fun to watch other groups perform and see what they put into their performance,” Schachter said. “Doing the lip sync as a team brought all of us close together and it brought out each other’s fun sides.”
