Fall Fun Run
Families, friends and neighbors gathered on the morning of Saturday, November 21 at the Bellaire Fall Fever 5K Run. The kid’s race kicked off first, with the 5K run beginning afterwards. Runners and walkers of all ages enjoyed the event and some pets participated in the race!
It took many volunteers to help make the race happen. Junior Lily Luo described what she enjoyed about volunteering at the run along the race course. Luo had participated in the Run since middle school and got to experience the race from a different perspective.
“I had a really fun time volunteering with my friends,” Luo said. “We were volunteering near the end of the track and had to walk the whole way back, but we really bonded during that time.”
As smiling runners rounded around corners and down neighborhood streets, they were cheered on by some of the volunteers.
The race after-party was just as exciting. Free snacks were provided by several businesses from around town, such as Reginelli’s Pizzeria. Some of the activities at the celebration included raffle prizes and a bouncy house. The race winners were also given their medals in the post-race award ceremony.
The race is an annual event that is fun for everyone and offers a unique experience for both runners and volunteers. Luo said she is looking forward to the race next year.
“I think I will probably be volunteering again,” Luo said.
