Incoming staff members should have the following on file: Application, essay, and teacher recommendations. Essay and teacher recommendation details are included in the application. Summer camp dates will be available to all accepted members.
Three Penny Press is a 5.0 credit class.

WHY TPP?
WHO SHOULD APPLY? Aspiring journalists, graphic designers, sports writers, graphic designers, business minded folks and video editors. Students who are entering 10-11th grade. Has your English teacher told you that you have strong voice in your writing? Consider becoming a newspaper reporter on the “Three Penny Press” where you can write for an audience.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Anyone who thrives in a fast-paced exciting, energetic and fun team that functions as the eyes, ears and voice of Bellaire.
- Positive “I can learn it” and “I will try it” attitudes.
- Strong writers and readers.
- Overall strong students (you must be passing every class) with solid attendance.
- Reporters, sports writers, photographers, copy editors, graphic designers, artists, social media/digital leaders, business managers or anyone who wants to learn these skills.
- Experienced video editors. Become a high school news anchor, create videos and podcasts.
- Students who are open to becoming proficient in every area of multimedia journalism.
- Aspiring writers who want to build a portfolio by publishing your work.
