Junior Daniel Dibos Profile
Junior Daniel Dibos has had an interesting high school experience. In the summer prior to his freshman year moved from Houston to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Having lived in Houston for most of his life, this environment proved to be very new for him. He was, however, already fluent in Spanish before moving. During his time in Argentina he went to a private international school and played on the varsity soccer team in both his freshman and sophomore years. Just last year he came back to Houston, returning in the middle of his sophomore year. Despite this, he managed to received 5’s on all of his AP’s. Below are some questions that I asked him.
Q: What clubs/activities do you participate in in Argentina?
R: Soccer, Band.
Q:What is your favorite thing about soccer?
R: I like the thrill, the feeling of running with the ball and shooting is just awesome
Q:What was your favorite tournament?
R: My favorite tournament was won a long time ago when I scored the goal, tying the game in the last minute. That sent the game to penalties, which we won through penalty shots. This caused us to win the tournament.
Q:What was your favorite moment of soccer in your life? What was your least favorite moment of soccer in your life?
R: This game where I scored three goals. Two of the goals were free kicks and one of the free kicks was just so perfect. My least favorite moment was when my coach took me out after five minutes and didn’t put me back in. I was playing poorly but still better than some of my teammates.
Q:When did you start playing soccer?
R: I started playing when I was 5 years old.
Q: What is your favorite class and why?
R: My favorite class is IB Standard Level Math because I really like math. I also like my teacher Sergio Leal.
Q: What is your favorite musical genre/band/song?
R:I like jazz because it’s pretty cool.
Q: What is your favorite website?
R: Youtube because it is very entertaining.
Q:What is your favorite TV show?
R: Prison Break– The main character is incredibly smart. The first two seasons were very well thought out. I liked the twist and turns of the show.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
R: My favorite movie is Spectre because I liked the action.
Q: What is your favorite book?
R: El psiocanalyst by John Kedzenbock. It deals with psychology, which is something that is interesting to me.
Q: What is your ambition in life?
R: I want to go to a good college and study medicine to become a doctor.
Q: What are you passionate about?
R: I am passionate about music and soccer.
Q: Who inspires you?
R: Pope John Paul the Second. He did many great things for the world.
Q: What are three things that you absolutely cannot live without?
R: My cell phone, soccer ball and my friends.
