Employed at a haunted house

“I went to Phobia just to be scared and went home with a job. I started working the very next day. My manager offered me the clown house, and I thought it would be fun for me because I love doing makeup. I had to pick out my own costume, so I got a sparkly tutu, tank top and thigh high socks all covered in fake blood. The first day I actually did full makeup, with a bloody extended smile and blacked out eyes, and my hair was super frizzy and kinda crazy. I just used my imagination and ran with it. Later, I actually found that it was easier to get a mask, so I wouldn’t have to do my makeup every day since I work after school and wouldn’t have as much time. I work four to five hours a night. My first night was so much fun. It was kinda like a dream come true for me. I’m a very social person and a horror movie fanatic. I’m also a part of Belles and I play softball, so it can be hard to balance but I don’t really see Phobia as a job. It’s a fun time, because I do have a lot of friends as coworkers, and I see it as somewhere to just let go. My coworkers and I try to scare each other and I can get scared easily so it does work on me a lot. The customers will sometimes point at me and ask me to scare someone and that’s fun. I have the most fun scaring kids though, because they have such strong reactions. Phobia is the perfect job for me.”
