“[At] the beginning of sophomore year, I was very shy and [kept] to myself. I didn’t really have any friends. [Then] I decided to join the Kpop Club for fun and from there, I made a lot of new friends.
Junior year was a rough time [but] I was performing for Kpop Club. [Kpop club] helped me meet new people [and] build more confidence in myself because we have competitions and performances.
A lot of the people in Kpop Club saw I had potential [in performance and dance], so my best friend forced me to try out for eMotion at the end of my junior year. I’m so glad they all forced me to try out because I love eMotion and everyone in it. I love Ms. Kent. I made so many friends in eMotion and I found a passion for dancing [and] performing in front of people. [When] I step on [the stage], I’m always super nervous. But as soon as I start dancing, all the nerves go away.
I think my favorite memory [this year] was [competing] for eMotion. We had to wake up at 4 a.m. and it ended at midnight. [There were] stressful moments, but it was really fun being with people who I love and spending the entire day with them.
You should just step out [and] try new things. You never know what’s gonna happen. I tried a lot of new things and [eMotion came] from that. You never know what the future [can] bring for you.”
