“I’ve always loved Europe [and] the French language, so I’m going to be moving to Paris for a year working as an au pair and taking care of one out of the two children.
[When I told all my friends] they were all like ‘What are you doing? That’s kind of crazy’ and some people were like ‘You are going to ruin your chances [for college]’ but the families that I’m with work in the Austrian embassy, so they’re directly involved in international policy. I can intern with them, which is gonna be so much fun.
The family [that I will be staying with] is of Austrian origin, so they’re going to be speaking German. Then [when I am] out and about in Paris, [I would be speaking] French, so I’m going to be taking French classes while I’m there.
I’m [also] going to be looking at colleges throughout Europe. My [ideal] college right now is LSE, London School of Economics. However, I might go to school in Germany because [college is] free and it’s a great education.
I’m most excited [about] living on my own and experiencing a new place [with] a new culture [and] making new friends memories traveling all across Europe. School can tether you down a little bit so [the fact that] I can do whatever I want is just crazy.”
