Last Thursday, the Bellaire Spanish Club along with Spanish National Honor Society hosted a Luncheon in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Tickets were sold by members of both clubs and were eight dollars. The clubs provided a mix of Hispanic cultural foods like chicken and beef fajitas, tortillas, rice, beans, and chips with a side of guacamole or chile con queso. The delicious assortment of food featured in the multi-purpose room was catered by Pico’s restaurant.
Juniors Kyle Ozuna and Rebecca Orsak, members of both the Spanish Club and the Spanish National Honor Society, enjoyed spending time with friends and eating the arrangement of Hispanic cultured food.
“We are here to have an amazing time and eat plenty of food with our friends that enjoy the Hispanic Heritage,” said Orsak.
This year’s luncheon was coordinated by Spanish teacher, Margery Laufe. Laufe moving area to area during the luncheon tried to help serve food and talk with those interested in Hispanic Heritage Month.
“We wanted to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month,” Laufe concludes. “I am really happy with the food from Pico’s and the turn out we got from the Bellaire student body.”
