Student Council’s September drive collected nearly 3,000 lbs. of peanut butter to donate to local food banks.

Congratulations to World History teacher Mr. Mark Kelley’s 2nd period for collecting 100 pounds of peanut butter for the peanut butter drive.

Over the past 6 weeks, Student Council has been running a drive to collect as much peanut butter as possible to donate to local food banks. The drive is run with Feeding America and Cheesecake Factory. Mr. Kelley received a $50 gift card to The Cheesecake Factory, and his 2nd period received a cheesecake party.

The Cheesecake Factory peanut butter drive is held every September, which they call Spoon-tember, and is a worldwide competition between the restaurants. Thanks to the Bellaire High School faction of the food drive, the Baybrook Mall location has won for the Houston region. Bellaire alone donated nearly 3,000 pounds of peanut butter.

The drive will be held again next September, with the same prizes offered. Be prepared to donate as much as you can.
