Wellness Club opened officer applications at its meeting on April 10.

Open positions include vice president, historian, creative director, and meeting executive. Applications are due April 16.

“I’m looking for people who will both take the job seriously and actually have events and meetings and carry on the club as well as have fun with it and not make it boring,” senior and co-vice president Allyson Nyguen said. “I hope the club grows with members who go to the meetings often, rather than every so often.”

Six of the seven officers are seniors. Junior Alex Tilney will lead the club as president next year. He looks to expand the club to include retreats, hikes, and sanctioned events.

“I’m really excited to see what the next year brings for the club and can’t wait to get started,” Tilney said.

Senior and creative director Esaam Zaman is excited to open officer applications and see what awaits in the club’s future, as Wellness Club means a lot to him.

“Wellness Club really represents the way I’m trying to go with my life both mentally and physically,” Zaman said. “The club has activities to better one’s mental and physical well being, and I feel like being around people that have that same goal as me really helps me be more motivated to achieve my goals.”

Ngyuen became an officer her junior year and holds a similar sentiment.

“Wellness Club is a place to express yourself, feel more healthy and overall have a better well-being,” Nguyen said. “There’s a lot of good memories from Wellness Club. Overall, the people in Wellness Club are very fun to be around.”

The officers are optimistic about Wellness Club’s future. They have big goals and plan to engage in more outside-of-school activities.

“I would like to see more collaborations with other clubs, such as Yoga Club and maybe more activities like wellness walks,” Zaman said. “[The goal is] to better the community of the club, as well as each individual’s wellness.”
