[NEWS BRIEF] Belles host final show, “Sweet Dreams”
Last Friday, the Belles presented their Spring Show, “Sweet Dreams” in the auditorium. The last performance of the year consisted of 19 choreographies and was performed during 7th period and at 6:30 p.m.
Senior and colonel Bella Mansfield said the show was an emotional night for her and the other 22 seniors.
“Spring show was definitely bittersweet. I always love dancing with my team, but knowing it was my last performance as a Belle made it very emotional,” Mansfield said. “I will miss dancing alongside my best friends and I love my teammates and will miss seeing them every day.”
Mansfield said that she will pursue dancing in college and will try to visit the Belles as often as she can.
“Belles has taught me so many life lessons and given me friendships I will cherish forever,” Mansfield said. “I am trying out for the Aggie Dance Team. It is very competitive, so even if I don’t make it, I will definitely find a way to continue dancing in college.”
While it was many seniors’ last, it was freshman and JV Belle Sarah Nitsun’s first Spring show.
“I love all the people I meet through belles and I have become so close with everyone on the team and love practicing and performing with everyone,” Nitsun said. “The seniors are amazing role models and such a big inspiration to all of us and we will miss them.”
Nitsun said she is glad that she could be a part of the Belles sisterhood.
“Being on Belles is such a fun experience. I love how we get to experience so many things every year such as summer camp, football season, pep rallies, homecoming, competition, Belle Ball and Spring Show,” Nitsun said. “I can’t believe we have done so much in just one year.”
Senior Jackie Andrade said she will miss the friends she made during her four years on Belles.
“The main challenge I faced during the Spring Show was accepting the fact that it was my last,” Andrade said. “Saying goodbye was the hardest part and knowing that I will never dance again with my Belles breaks my heart.”
