Bananas are an essential part of my day. Every day, I make sure to eat at least two bananas, one for breakfast and one before swim practice. Bananas are a great source of potassium, so they are great to consume before workouts.
The only downside with bananas is they turn mushy too quickly. Because practice starts right after school, I can’t go home and grab a banana, so I have no choice but to keep it in my lunchbox.
The problem with my lunchbox is that it contains other foods, which push against the banana while I am walking. By the time I open my banana for practice, it's all mushy and disgusting. I know that I am not the only student who deals with this problem. Continue reading for the perfect solution.
So, in my journey to reach a solution to this messy problem, I scoured the internet for an idea. One website recommended chilling my banana, but having a hot thermos didn’t allow me to carry an ice pack in the lunchbox, and I sure wasn’t going to bring a mini fridge to school. Another website suggested a banana bag, but it wouldn’t prevent my banana from getting squished. Finally, after hours of web surfing, I stumbled upon the banana case.
Everyone should get a banana case.
Hear me out.
After using the case for about a month, I am pretty qualified to do a review on them. I believe that the banana case is one of my best purchases, and here’s why.
My banana case is solid and durable yet lightweight enough to be convenient to carry around. The case has tiny holes so the banana can breathe inside but not be fully exposed to oxygen.
Why would a case have holes?
Isn’t a case supposed to be a closed box?
Those questions lead me to my second point of why the banana case is one of my best purchases: how well the case preserves my banana.
After all, there is no definite way to prevent your bananas from turning brown. The case slows the process down significantly so that you can still expect your banana to be yellow when you open the case after an entire day.
The third thing I like about the case is that it can be easily unlocked.
The case has two latches so that it's easy to open and close but not easy to open when something smashes against the case. It’s also super easy to clean and ranges from $3 to $10, which is relatively affordable. The case comes in different colors and styles in case you want a funky and cool case.
However, every product has its flaws. One of the biggest problems with the case is that you have to buy bananas that fit the size of the case. Many times, your banana will be too big for the case, and it's a hassle trying to fit the banana inside the case.
The benefits outweigh the flaws, and I 100% recommend the case.
Countless people suffer from the same problem I did. Why not spend a little money to prevent a lifetime of mushy bananas? The choice is yours, but I think anyone would prefer a nice banana rather than a squished one.
