Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is a group of handpicked staffers chosen for both their writing and critical thinking skills. Together, they write editorials representing the stance of the Three Penny Press on a subject. The Editorial Board is co-led by Catherine Xue and Davis Adams.

Editorial Board Policy 

The Three Penny Press is a student-run publication serving Bellaire High School. Published editorials express the views of the Three Penny Press staff. The content and opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect those of the entire Three Penny Press staff, the adviser, Bellaire High School faculty and staff, the Houston Independent School District or the school board. We are committed to accurate and fair reporting that serves the interests of our school community through fact checking and ethical journalistic practices

Editorial Board Members

Catherine Xue is a second-year staffer, Online Editor and Opinions Editor. She’s interested in writing about health and climate policy.

Davis Adams is a second-year staffer and Opinions Editor. Adams hopes to grow the board and its content through both serious and satirical pieces regarding the Bellaire community.

Bethel Kifle is a second-year staffer and Online Editor. Kifle hopes to offer a fresh voice and tackle issues that matter and resonate with people. She is interested in writing about DEI, social justice and politics.

Keith Luo is a third-year staffer and head of the photography section. He aims to raise awareness and boost media literacy by reporting on current events and ethical issues to call for change.

Macy Langland is a second-year staffer and Entertainment Editor. Langland hopes to establish connections between media and entertainment and how it affects the thinking in our society. She is interested in writing about mental health, politics and school-related issues.

Mallika Mohan is a second-year staffer and News Editor. Mallika enjoys writing about national politics, education policy and media. She hopes to give a platform to voices that have been left unheard. 

Alav Madani is a sophomore and first-year staffer. Madani joined the Editorial Board to be a part of the school’s voice. She is interested in writing about anything students and the community value, along with social justice and politics.

Ethan Reichek is a first-year staffer and reporter. Reichek hopes that the Editorial Board will provide and opportunity to express his opinion on issues that matter. He is interested in writing on current events, politics and technology.

Angelina Tao is a sophomore and first-year staffer. She hopes to voice the student body of the school and address underreported issues on both a local and global scale. Tao is interested in writing about current events, ethics and societal issues.
