44 Bellaire Choir students volunteered at the choir department’s biannual car wash on Saturday, Sept. 21. Students washed more than 150 cars in the Crosspoint Church parking lot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and raised around $1,700.
Junior Arya Presse said the car wash was a popular event and will help the choir department fund events throughout the year.
“It was never not busy,” Presse said. “[The profit] goes toward the choir fund, and it goes towards UIL and [competitions] like that.”
Sophomore and Cantamus Co-President Elise Phillips likes the choir community she helped build from participating in the car washes.
“A bunch of people come [to the car wash],” Phillips said. “I feel like I need to interact with everybody; it’s an amazing way to get to know people [in choir].”
Bellaire Choir will host their next car wash at the same Crosspoint Church parking lot on Oct. 12.
