Cardinal Crafts and Kinesiology Club members made pumpkin-themed stress balls in room 2304 on Oct. 9 with around 10 members in attendance.
Cardinal Crafts made stress balls for the first time last year. This year, the club gave the stress balls a "spooky twist" by making them into pumpkin shapes and decorating them as jack-o-lanterns.
It was freshman Ace Minton’s first time attending a Cardinal Crafts meeting.
“I went to the club meeting today because I really wanted to engage with the community and have fun,” Minton said. “I think the people are super nice and I really enjoyed it.”
The idea behind the pumpkin stress ball project came from Cardinal Crafts secretary and senior Annie Tsang. Tsang currently interns at Pace Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, a physical therapy clinic, and wanted to donate the stress balls to patients there.
“There are a lot of older patients and I thought they would benefit from stress relief and to help them with their arthritis," Tsang said.
Tsang is also the president and founder of the Kinesiology Club. She said that her being an officer in both clubs was one of the reasons the clubs decided to join together.
“We collaborated so that we could bring Bellaire’s community together through fun crafts and then spread that love to our community at the Pace Chiropractic and Physical Therapy clinic,” Tsang said.
Cardinal Crafts’ next meeting will be on Nov. 20 and Kinesiology Club’s next meeting will be on Nov. 3.
“For [Cardinal Crafts], we plan to have more fun craft activities,” Tsang said. “For Kinesiology Club, we hope to have more guest speakers and some yoga movement activities for our members.”
