Pizza at The ‘401.

In the corner of the city of 77401, a small restaurant opened last year by the name of – you guessed it – The 401. When I first walked in, the dine in restaurant seemed like the perfect place to have an Instagram worthy brunch, or a fun get together with friends, as it was not too fancy and had just the right amount of an at-homeness that local customers can enjoy.

The menu features a variety of foods, from salads to pizzas, meatloaf, kabob, sandwiches, anything you might daydream of with an empty stomach. I ordered the margarita pizza and and my mom, the “Ma…The Meatloaf?”. Both items made my mouth water just by reading the short descriptions under the name. The orders took not too long, considering how busy the restaurant appeared to be. The margarita pizza was heaven on my tongue, and as a pizza enthusiast, a taste that I would go back to have again. The meatloaf was also appetizing, with a side of beans, mashed potatoes, and garlic bread.

Moises Pac was a server at this restaurant.

“The restaurant has been in business for a year,” Pac said. “The most popular food items on the menu are the kabob plate and the Vegan Mediterranean Fusion Bowl.”

All the items on the menu are reasonably priced for the quality that the dishes offer. In the restaurant were people of all ages, from families with little children to teenage girls, as well as elders, all looking to enjoy a good meal.

Junior Madelyn Lewis was part of the Bellaire Belles that recently hosted a spirit night at this location.

“I loved it, it was really nice. I think I had the Tejas Tacos,” Lewis said. “The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere.”

Overall, with the comfortable atmosphere and the delicious food, I would rate The 401 a 5 out of 5 stars. If you ever decide to go, you may find me there, back to have my second margarita pizza.

The restaurant is located on the corner of Ferris Street and Dashwood Drive.
