LaPorte Game Short Story Update

LaPorte+Game+Short+Story+Update

The cheers of the crowd, the feeling of excitement within their veins and the feeling of walking back onto the field after months of not playing. This is what our Mighty Cardinal football team experienced this past Friday at their game against the LaPorte Bulldogs at Butler Stadium.

Our team has been practicing for months for their highly anticipated season. The Varsity football team gave it their all out on the field Friday night. The team worked hard to overcome an equally good team in the pre-district game. The players fought hard on the field, and their hard work and long practices had finally been put to work.

After a few plays, the boys finally managed to get a few points on the board, scoring a field goal worth 3 points. Unfortunately, LaPorte managed to overcome our players with their multiple touchdowns and field goals in the beginning of the second half. Our players made sure to continue to keep their heads in the game, even though they’d been faced with a challenge. The boys managed to score a touchdown within the last 19 seconds of the game and end the game with a score of 10-27.

Despite the loss the boys faced, that hasn’t hindered them from practicing harder in an effort to defeat their next opponent, the Chavez Lobos. They’ll take on the Lobos Thursday Sept. 28 at Delmar Stadium and hopefully come home with a win for their first district game of the season.
