Twin telepathy goes unexplained

The subject of superhuman mental connection between twins was bound to come up sometime during the fifteen long years of sophomores Kwon and Chai Teimchaiyapoom’s lives. But is the myth true? The fraternal twins said that they only wish that they had extrasensory perception (ESP) or twin telepathy.

“Sometimes we joke about it,” K. Teimchaiyapoom said. “When we say the same things at the same time.”

The Teimchayapooms then shed some light on the difficulties that come with being twins. The background held possible explanations as to why the twins do not experience the phantom sibling telepathy.

“Sometimes our parents want him to tag along with me and my friends and vice versa,” K. Teimchayapoom said. “Our parents constantly compare us to one another.”

Because they were constantly forced to be so close, the twins said that they argue often, which might have had something to do with their lack of telepathic connection.

“We’re pretty close,” K. Teimchayapoom said. “But we don’t get along all the time. We have petty arguments all the time.”

Another set of fraternal twins, sophomores Mackenzie and Charlotte Parsons, responded differently.

Though the old wives’ tale that twins have the sixth sense usually pertains to identical twins and though the girls look nothing alike, the two seemed to believe that they’re suspiciously similar, mentally.

“I think we probably do [have a telepathic connection because we’re twins],” M. Parsons said. “Like, right now, we’re both thinking about . . . answering the question.”

The girls laughed off the question, but their response posed a few questions. Do twins really experience telepathic connection? Does the strength of their mental bond depend on the strength of their relationship? Does telepathy work better in minds belonging to twins of the same gender?

In the words of Mackenzie Parsons, “I don’t know.”
