Homecoming Game Update

Homecoming+Game+Update

Every year the students of our school show up and show out during homecoming week to display the Cardinal Pride we are so well known for. This year was no different. The students, faculty and staff all showed and enormous amount of support for the football team as they took on the Westbury Huskies.

Family, friends and Cardinal supporters came out to show love to the Mighty Cardinal football team on October 27, 2017. The stands were filled and the energy was amazing as our Cardinals gave it their all on the field. The game was very entertaining and had fans on the edge of their seats as it progressed. The Cardinals played very good defense against an equally strong team. They fought to the end and made sure to leave everything they had on the field.

One reason in particular drove the Cardinals to work harder than they had all season. The passing of a fellow teammates’ mother. Senior wide receiver and defensive back Christian Wise lost his mother a few weeks prior to the game. She passed on October 10, 2017. This tragedy did not stop Wise or his teammates from getting the job done on the field that night.

The boys overcame the solemn event by playing their hearts out and defeating the Huskies 14-12. They closed off homecoming week with a positive attitude and great morale. The support that was shown at the homecoming game showed just how much #CardinalPride is in the school and community and how it is reflected onto our students and their performance.
