Varsity Red Bird Productions (RBP) members and juniors Audrey Lawrence and Sierra Little embrace each other while singing “End of the Line” from the musical “Theory of Relativity” by Neil Bartram. “Towards the end, I hoped we woke the audience up, got a few laughs and gave them joy,” Little said. “I hope they walked away thinking that was a funny show.”

Varsity girls lacrosse fall short of Lamar
Sophomore and Corporal Hailey Wong executes a floor during Varsity’s Jazz dance to “Burnin’ Up” on stage. “We had a lot of morning practices and after school rehearsals to prepare for the show,” Wong said. “In these practices we ran through every dance and re-spaced them to fit on the stage since we are usually dancing on gym floors.”
Where it all ignites
Maahi Vaswani poses at center stage during Bellaire Bollywood Club’s third dance. The choreography was an Indian hip-hop fusion to a mashup of “Titi Me Pregunto” by Bad Bunny and “Saki Saki” by Neha Kakkar.

Baltus Van Tassel, played by junior Davis Adams, describes to senior Aiden Gross in the role of Ichabod Crane the haunting past which the town holds. Tassel told Crane about the German spirit who was killed at a tree down the path to his house and now haunted the town.
A headless hunt for the top
Senior and Major Vivienne Chen performs a tilt kick to the song “Smoke Signals” by Phoebe Bridgers. The dance was choreographed by the entire officer team and was performed in the student choreography section of the Dance Montage performance.

Junior Grayson Yen-Asprec is a news and copy editor in TPP. He joined TPP to help tell the stories of Bellaire in a meaningful and interesting way. Outside of TPP, Grayson is an officer for Business Professionals of America, Junior Achievement, Tennis Club, and a member of the Bellaire Tennis Team. He enjoys listening to music, baking, playing the piano and anything new.

Raya Jogi is a junior and first-year staffer for the Three Penny Press. She joined TPP because she loves connecting with people and believes that journalism is a powerful way to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard. Outside of TPP, Raya is captain of Bellaire’s varsity tennis team, president of her club, Business for Change, and co-founder of TBM Rentals, a tennis ball machine rental business. When she’s not busy, you can find her watching tennis, taking photos, or satisfying her newfound obsession with plums.

Vaishali Raol is a sophomore and a first-year reporter for the Three Penny Press. She joined TPP to pursue her love of writing, expand on her photography skills, and become a part of a big community. She is a part of Bellaire’s Women’s Lacrosse Team and Red Bird Productions. Outside of school, Vaishali loves going to concerts, reading books, and exploring the city!
